Experience #10

President - Principal Trader/Analyst

Pegasus Trading
Huntington, NY
I ran a small global macro trading fund. Investment thesis was to take advantage of a slowdown in the US by shorting risk assets, then using the profits from that trade to invest in hard assets as the FED and the government tries to inflate the problems away.
Without a license I couldn't gather enough funds (capped at 25k) to make all the paperwork worthwhile so I had to shut down the fund.

Investors who came in at the beginning had small profits (20%). Max unrealized profit for most clients was 100% (one smart client pulled his funds at this point doubling his money.)
Most clients who waited until I showed good profits before buying in (trying to predict short term future performance based on past performance) broke even. Those who tried to "trade" the funds performance even though I specifically advised them not to inevitably lost money (buying in at PnL tops and pulling out at bottoms).
